🎭 How to prepare for a performance
A first time on stage is stressful. Here is how to handle it.
A first performance always brings nerves. For children especially. A few tips that work.
A week before
- Run the routine in costume. A costume can get in the way — you need to get used to it in advance.
- Do not change your sleep schedule. No "I must get a really good night's sleep the day before" — too late for that.
- Check the shoes: brand-new ones can rub, worn-in are better.
On the day
- Have breakfast, but do not overeat.
- A warm-up is essential — even if the body feels "already warm".
- No coffee (for adults) — your heart is racing enough as it is.
- The last 10 minutes: in silence, with music in your headphones.
If something goes wrong on stage
Do not stop. Wrong note — keep going. Stumbled — get up and carry on. The audience misses 90% of mistakes unless you show it on your face.
