🎯 How to choose a dance direction for your child
Ballet, breaking, contemporary, K-POP — and that is only the start of the list. A guide to making up your mind.
Parents' first question: "Where do we enrol — ballet, contemporary or breaking?" There is no universal answer, but there are a few pointers.
By age
- 3–5 years: Baby Dance — the emphasis is on coordination, rhythm and play. Not serious dance but preparing the body.
- 6–9 years: you can already try a specialisation — Dance Mix, basic acrobatics, contemporary.
- 10+ years: time to choose your own style — Hip-hop, Jazz-funk, Heels (for girls), Break dance.
By temperament
An active, energetic child — Hip-hop, Break dance, Jazz-funk.
Calm and flexible — contemporary choreography, ballet, contemporary.
Loves performing — Pro groups, where there are stage appearances.
