🎒 Dance and school: balancing both
Homework plus training four times a week plus competitions. How not to burn out or let your grades slide.
Most of our Pro students are at school. Dance seriously, school seriously. Here is how they balance the two.
The schedule
Our training is usually 16:00–20:00 — after school. To avoid collapsing in the evening: do your homework straight after school, before training. Not "I'll do it after training" — after training the brain does not work.
Before competitions
A week before a competition, tell your teacher. Most will meet you halfway and let you move a test. Do not hide the dancing — on the contrary, schools like it when children are in sport.
Sleep
A teenager needs 8–9 hours. Dance takes energy — without sleep comes burnout. We have a rule: turn up to training short of sleep and you do not train with the Pro group.
Weekends
One day a week completely free of dance. That is not laziness, it is recovery. Body and head both need to reboot.
