A hobby or a professional path? You don't have to choose on day one
At IDC there is no need to choose on the doorstep: how hobby groups and the professional path work, and an honest answer about what results cost.
Children are brought to us from the age of three — an age at which few people know what they want. And that is fine. At IDC two paths live side by side: dance as a beloved hobby and dance as a professional trajectory. There is no wall between them — there is a door, and it opens when a child is ready.
If it is a hobby
Group classes are enough. The child develops their body and coordination, learns discipline, makes friends, competes once or twice a year — and goes out onto a big stage twice a year. For many families that is entirely sufficient, and it is a wonderful outcome: a happy, healthier child with a hobby that develops them all round.
The stage is for everyone
Twice a year every one of our children — from hobby groups and professional groups alike — performs in front of a large audience. We established the end-of-season showcase as a tradition in Irpin, and we make it spectacular and large-scale, on the level of a real show. A child who first walked in in September is already standing on a big stage in December. For the experienced it is a chance to show their progress; for newcomers, a first taste of the stage. It is often after that taste that children set themselves new goals.
If there are ambitions
The professional path begins with an honest conversation about what results cost. Group classes here are only the base, the "routine work" where the body is prepared. Beyond that come individual lessons, acrobatics, acting, staging competition routines, and taking part in national and international competitions. And above all consistency: children who are set on results train regardless of shelling, power cuts, weather or mood. That is exactly why they get those results.
The formula that always holds
A child's success is the work of three parties: the child, the teacher and the parents. If a mother wants it badly and the child does not, there will be no great result. Nor will there be if the child is on fire while the parents believe two classes a week is enough to produce a champion in a year. We do not promise or "guarantee development" — we build it together, when all three share the same goal.
It is also an investment
Dancer and actor are professions. Our teachers are proof of how the stage becomes a career: performing, touring, teaching. And even if a child chooses an entirely different field, the discipline, the physical base and the experience of the stage stay with them for good. Children who go abroad to study earn money teaching and performing while they are still students. When you invest in yourself, it goes with you everywhere.
